Privacy Policy

Last updated October 13, 2026.

Rendus is a service of Fy Network, Inc., a Delaware corporation, 305 Lechner Circle, Annandale, NJ 08801, United States ("Rendus", "we", "us"). Rendus helps people who share costs keep track of them. This page says what we collect, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

1. What we collect

WhatWhy
Your email, your name, and a phone number if you give oneTo sign you in and to reach you. A phone is used for texts only if you or a group you are in set it up.
Bills, photos, PDFs and receipts you give us or forward, and what is read from themTo work out each person's part and show it to you.
Names, phone numbers and emails of people you add to a group, a bill, a receipt or an agreementTo send them their part. You are responsible for having the right to give us these.
Amounts, dates, who paid and who said they paid, agreements between two people and their paymentsThis is the shared record that keeps everyone's balance correct.
Messages we sent and received about your bills (text and email)To show what was sent, to handle replies such as PAID or STOP, and to investigate problems.
Your plan, and how many AI reads and texts you have usedTo apply the limits of your plan and to bill you.
A hashed (not readable) form of your network address when you sign in, and how long your session lastsSecurity and sign-in limits.
Product events in our own database, such as "first bill created"To see whether Rendus works and to fix it. No third-party analytics or advertising trackers are used.
If you connect a bank: the bank's name, account names and the last digits of account numbers, and transactions (date, amount, merchant or description)To match payments you made or received against bills and agreements, so you do not have to mark them paid by hand.
If you turn on notifications: a push address for your browser or deviceTo send you notifications about your bills.

We do not collect your card number (Stripe does), your bank login or password (Plaid handles that), or the password to any account of yours.

2. Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. It is needed for the service and is not used for tracking. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

3. Gmail and Outlook

If you connect a mailbox, Rendus asks for read-only access. It looks for messages that appear to be bills, and reads those, to propose a bill for you to approve. Rendus cannot send, delete, move or change anything in your mailbox, and never sends from it. You can disconnect at any time, and disconnecting stops all reading.

Rendus's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use mailbox data only to provide the bill features you see in Rendus. We do not use it for advertising, do not sell it, do not transfer it to others except to provide those features (for example to the AI services in section 4, under the conditions there) or as the law requires, and no person at Rendus reads it except with your permission, for security, or where the law requires. The same applies to Outlook data.

4. AI

To read a bill or photo, and sometimes a short reply, Rendus sends the relevant text, image or file to an AI model. When Rendus provides the AI, the request goes through OpenRouter with instructions to use only model providers that do not retain the content and do not use it for training (zero data retention). AI output is a suggestion: you confirm before anything is sent to anyone.

You can instead use your own AI key (Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter), or connect your own OpenRouter account. Then your content goes to the provider you chose, under your agreement with that provider and its own privacy terms, not ours. Rendus refuses providers it does not allow for bills and messages. Your key is stored encrypted, is used only for your requests, and is deleted when you remove it or delete your account. A key from a connected OpenRouter account can also be revoked from that account.

5. Bank connections (Plaid)

Connecting a bank is optional. Rendus uses Plaid Inc. to connect to your bank, only with your consent, given through Plaid Link. You enter your bank login in Plaid Link, not in Rendus; Rendus never sees it. Rendus asks Plaid only for read-only transaction data. Rendus cannot move money, make payments or change anything at your bank.

The access token Plaid gives us is stored encrypted. You can disconnect a bank at any time in Rendus; disconnecting revokes Rendus's access at Plaid and deletes the accounts and transactions that bank supplied. Deleting your Rendus account does the same for every bank you connected.

Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. By connecting a bank, you agree that Plaid may collect, use and share your information as that policy describes.

The other people on a bill, receipt or agreement see what is on it: the bill, their part, the person owed, and the dates. They do not see your other bills. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect people from harm. If Fy Network, Inc. is involved in a merger, sale or similar transaction, information may pass to the new owner under this policy.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for advertising.

7. Texts

If you give a phone number, or someone gives yours, Rendus sends texts about bills and agreements that concern you: your part of a bill, a reminder about an agreement you accepted, answers to your replies. Message frequency varies with your bills. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts at any time, and HELP for help. A text reminder is sent only after you have taken part in something with that sender, and you can block or mute a sender from the link in the message without an account. We do not share phone numbers or text content with third parties for their marketing.
